It's almost May, which means FINAL CRISIS AFTERMATH is almost upon us!

Now I just KNOW you're going to pick up INK #1 when it hits shelves on May 27th. But there are also THREE other cool FINAL CRISIS AFTERMATH titles hitting shelves in May, too: DANCE, RUN, and ESCAPE.

First up is RUN on May 6th, featuring the HUMAN FLAME. Next comes ESCAPE on May 13th, featuring NEMESIS. Then it's DANCE on May 20th, featuring the SUPER YOUNG TEAM. INK hits the final week of a May... but remember, these are all 6-issue miniseries that are full of major surprises! So, why not buy them all?

OK. Buy INK first.

THEN... because you love it so much, GO BACK AND BUY THE REST!

This now ends Bassrocker's Shameless Plug Segment.

And now, back to work...

That's the rumor, folks!

Scully herself, GILLIAN ANDERSON, is being tipped as the new RANI when Matthew Smith takes over as the Doctor next year. If this actually turns out to be true, THANK YOU TV GODZ.

And for those of you who don't know who the Rani is, that's the original Rani above as played by the incredible Kata O'Mara. For the record, the Rani is another renegade Time Lord (kinda like a female version of The Master) who caused trouble for the Sixth and Seventh Doctor back in the 80s. If you want to know more, check out her first appearance in "Mark of the Rani," a Doctor Who adventure featuring (if I remember correctly...) LUDDITES [!] featuring my favorite Audio Drama Doctor, COLIN BAKER.

For those of you who read the comics news media or chatboards, you probably already know that I'm writing TITANS #14 for DC Comics. For everyone else... hey, guess what?! The issue hits stands June 10, 2009.

Now for those unfamiliar with the book, let me get you up to speed. Many decades ago, DC Comics introduced a group of young superheroes called the TEEN TITANS. During the 1980s, the book achieved classic status thanks to a brilliant run masterminded by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez.

Well, today... the "Teen" Titans are all grown up, and now simply referred to as the TITANS. Right now TITANS is in the middle of a cool storyline called "DEATHTRAP." Needless to say with a title like that, BAD THINGS happen to our heroes. My story is a "one-shot" or standalone tale that centers around the character of Vic Stone aka CYBORG. I won't spoil the story here, but I will say that Vic has more than just the aftermath of the "Deathtrap" to deal with in this issue. Yup, poor Vic has a bit of baggage he's yet to deal with... and that's where TITANS #14 begins.

So don't forget to check it out in June -- I hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it! And also don't forget that my six-issue miniseries featuring the TATTOOED MAN starts next month. You can pick up issue #1 of FINAL CRISIS AFTERMATH: INK on May 27, 2009.

See you at your local comic book store!

WHO is the Observer?

Well, we know that he's an American Idol fan. That he's bald. That he has something to do with a silver bullet, and I don't mean a can of Coors Light. Oh, and we know that he's a snappy dresser. And right now, that's enough for me.

I can't wait until next Tuesday...!

Want to get on the ground floor of a great new series?

Then get thee to your nearest comic book shop and pick up issue #1 of IRREDEEMABLE, an exciting new comic from master writer Mark Waid.

I just finished reading the first issue myself, and WOW... I can't wait to see where this goes. Now I know what you're thinking. "'s only one issue. Calm down!" Well, yes. Usually you'd be right. But when you have a premise this good ("What if the world's greatest superhero went bad and became the ultimate super-villain?") and one of the ten best writers working in comics today, you know it's only gonna get better. And that's saying something, because the first issue packs quite a whallop.

So do yourself a favor... don't wait for the tradeback on this one. Pick up IRREDEEMABLE #1 now. And join the ride each month. I have a feeling we're going to have a lot to talk about
